Overview
Co-created by UK marine artist Martin Allen and legendary LA street dancer Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers (Breakin’, Electric Boogaloo), Aqua Boogie merges global environmental education with hip-hop culture. The series follows lovable characters like Boo Boo Shrimp (inspired by Chambers) and Crazy Crab Legs as they dance, look after each other, and protect their home, Reef Rock. Backed by the funky beats of DJ Algae, the crew tackles real-world ecological issues, starting with keeping plastic out of our oceans.
Episode 1 / Book 1 Synopsis: "Message of the Bottle"
When plastic bottles threaten Reef Rock, Boo Boo Shrimp and his crew use teamwork and dance to gather the waste, safely transport it to the beach recycling bins, and save their habitat. Future installments will tackle diverse global ocean conservation themes.
